2026 Lumiere Moon Festival

2026 Lumiere Moon Festival

💫 Do you know the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival?
🌷 It's a festival for enjoying mooncakes and admiring the full moon.
🌷 In the eighth lunar month, as farmers reap their autumn harvest, they gazed upon the full moon to express gratitude for the bountiful harvest and pay homage to nature.
🌷 It's also a time to think of loved ones far away and to cherish the hope of being reunited.
🌷 Over the centuries, beautiful tales such as Chang'e flying to the moon and the Jade Rabbit pounding medicine have become interwoven with these customs, blending together to form the unique Mid-Autumn cultural traditions for the Chinese community.

💫 Why does BW Monastery place such importance on this celebration?
In these rapidly changing times, it is vital to pass on this finest traditional culture, especially to help the younger generation understand the origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival and experience the warmth of reunion, gratitude, and longing inherent in Chinese culture.

💫 This Mid-Autumn Festival, we warmly invite you to bring your family and friends to join us at BW Monastery to share this gathering of blessings! Lanterns and mooncakes will be prepared for you, we look forward to seeing you there!
